Import from LangQuest. The New project dialog has Import from LangQuest. Paste a token from LangQuest’s Connect page, check what it allows, pick a language to follow, and create the project. Its passages and recordings import, and stay up to date whenever a project lead opens the project. A LangQuest badge in the workspace header and on the overview opens a panel with Sync now, and for maintainers Unlink and, with a token that has the Release scope, Publish approved versions. Assign work warns when the new assignment covers lines the person already holds, such as a whole book and a list of its chapters: “… already holds MAT 21–28 in Matthew, so this would assign those lines twice. You can still assign it.” Only the same person, task and language count, and Assign still works. (AQU-1510)
In Assigned to me, an assignment of chapters reads as ranges, such as “MAT 1–20”, with the full label on hover, and long labels no longer push the table off the page. Hovering a row’s progress says the count covers only that assignment, not the whole file. (AQU-1510)
A plan unit marked done with work left keeps the way to that work: the row reads, for example, “Marked done · 3 cells to validate · chapters 12 and 40” with the shortfall as a link, and its details keep Go to first… and the chapter badges. Before, you had to unmark the unit to reach those cells. (AQU-1974)
Desktop: launching the app with no connection goes straight back to the last project you had open, if it is downloaded on this device, instead of stopping at the organization page. A downloaded project opened this way can be edited, and each account on the device keeps its own offline copies. (#1562)

Fixed

The New API token dialog in Preferences now shows the chosen organization, project and expiry by name, instead of a numeric id or 90d. An organization without a name reads “Org {id}”. (AQU-2102)
Choosing Restore on an archived project’s overview now brings back every card, including Progress, Languages, Team and the plan’s language, without a reload. (AQU-2097)

Connected AI assistants such as ChatGPT now treat warming up the Omnilingual Zero-Shot model as an action rather than a read, because starting the model uses AI capacity. An assistant can still check whether the model is ready without starting it. (AQU-2108)

New

Assign just the validating. The Assign dialog and the Team card’s Assign panel have a Task field: Translate (the default) or Validate. A Validate assignment counts the person’s own approvals in that language, for text and audio, in one wording everywhere, such as “Validated 34 of 40 · 6 left · 2 changed since”. Lines still waiting for a translation or recording are never counted as left. Validators get their own rows under Assigned to in the plan, a Validation assignments list on the Team card, and a Validating chip in the inboxes. Removing an assignment now takes two clicks, an X and then Confirm, on the Team workload, the Team card and the plan. (AQU-1969)
Each language keeps its own voices. On a project with several target languages, a voice belongs to the language it was made in, and voice lists, pickers and Generate show only the open language’s voices. Each language also has its own cast and its own starred default voice, so recasting a line in one language leaves the others alone. Members who can’t open a language don’t see its voices. (AQU-2037, AQU-2038, AQU-2043)
Project leads can manage voices. A Maintainer can turn on Project leads can manage voices in Project Settings → Voice. A Project lead can then create, edit, star and assign voices on the languages they can write. It is off until a Maintainer turns it on. (AQU-2041)
Correct the statistical gloss. In a cell’s Back-translation tab, a Contributor or above can use the pencil beside Statistical gloss to fix it. The correction is saved for everyone on the project, marked Corrected by a translator, and teaches the same word choices to the glosses of other cells. Clear the box and save to go back to the computed gloss. (AQU-1408)
Make a new Monday board from setup. Step 1 of the Monday setup offers Make a new board for me, named “Aquilla progress” unless you change it. Aquilla makes a clean board with only the columns you tick, links it, and pushes the first progress. An account with no boards yet starts on this choice. (AQU-2087)
Airtable. An organization can connect Airtable under Organization settings → Airtable with a personal access token. Each project can then link one table under Project Settings → Integrations → Airtable and keep a record for the project, one per file, or both, up to date with the same progress figures Monday gets. See Airtable integration. (AQU-804)
Hide a track on the timeline. Right-click a track and choose Hide track to take it off your own screen for that file. Nobody else’s timeline changes. Hidden tracks in the toolbar brings them back. Lines hidden with Hide cell now show faded on the timeline and never play. (AQU-1684)
Español and Português. The UI language menu now offers Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. Both are drafts that no Spanish or Portuguese speaker has reviewed yet. (#1533)

The Audio view has one player: the bottom bar, a line’s play button and its ⋯ Play audio all drive it, and playback runs on into the next lines. The part of a line already played is shaded. If you switch to another browser tab, playback pauses and carries on when you come back. (AQU-1642)
Before an audio export, the warning about recordings nobody has validated lists every such line as a pill, such as JHN 6:5 or L3. Click a pill to go to that line. (AQU-2073)
Aquilla loads faster on slow connections: the first load downloads much less, other interface languages download only when picked, and very large files finish loading sooner. The Audio view draws a line’s small waveform without downloading the whole recording, which only downloads when you play it. (AQU-2090, AQU-2091, AQU-2092, AQU-2093, AQU-2094, AQU-2095)
A Project lead can now change Count headings as translatable content in Project Settings → Validation. Below that role it is greyed out, and hovering it says who can change it. (AQU-1912)
An open project overview, org overview or Projects page now picks up a setting someone else changed, such as headings counted or validators needed, when you come back to the tab. (AQU-1913)
My assignments in the workspace sidebar is now a button with a count that opens your assignments in a popover. (#1537)
With Visible style segments on, you can drag either edge of a bold or italic piece of an InDesign cell to move whole words in or out of it. (#1559)

Fixed

Hosted transcription with Whisper no longer fails with a server error. If the hosted model doesn’t answer, the error now reads “The transcription model isn’t responding” and offers Change model. (#1540)
After you deleted the first piece of a split take, the remaining pieces could go silent after the nightly cleanup. They now keep playing. (AQU-2099)
An archived project’s overview no longer says “Loading the plan…” forever. It now reads “This project is archived” and explains how to restore it. (AQU-2088)
The Split at quotes preview no longer shows raw USFM markers such as \q2 and \p on poetry verses. (AQU-2089)
On the all-organizations Overview, people who reach a project only through a project or team invite, without belonging to its organization, now see it counted in the totals instead of “Projects 0”. (AQU-1488)
The Assign button in a plan unit’s details now shows for everyone allowed to assign work, including members who can assign themselves or assign in their own languages, even where the organization hides team progress. A plain Contributor gets none. (AQU-1914)

On a term’s detail page, an occurrence from a cell with no reference now reads “Untitled cell” instead of a fragment of the cell’s internal id, and every occurrence shows the file it is in below its label. (AQU-2076)
Audio attached to a line from outside Aquilla through the Agent API, such as a voice made by a connected voice tool, now shows in that line’s Takes for the lane it was made for, plays on the media timeline’s Target audio track, and exports like a take recorded in Aquilla. Before, the line said “No takes yet” even though the audio had been added. (AQU-2086)

New

Split a line at its quotation marks. When one source line holds narration and a quotation, choose Split at quotes in the source row’s ⋯ menu so each speaker gets a line and a voice of their own. A preview lists the new Narration and Quotation lines first; recordings stay on the first line, and a translation that splits the same way is divided too. Split verses are numbered 5a, 5b, 5c. Split lines at quotes in the file’s ⋯ menu splits every multi-speaker line at once. (AQU-1759)
WAV export for broadcast. Audio by line has a Convert every recording to WAV (16-bit, 48 kHz, mono) box, and Data egress’s Every clip separately has Convert every clip to WAV (16-bit, 48 kHz, mono). Unticked, each recording is copied as it was saved. (AQU-1575)
Rows from a linked video’s own sound. On an empty file linked to a video that is not on YouTube, a maintainer can choose “make rows from the video’s own sound”. Aquilla saves a copy of the sound with the file, splits it into rows where the speech pauses, and transcribes them, timed to the video. A long transcription that reaches the hosted limit pauses and carries on by itself. (AQU-1681)

Change target language… and Add lane… in the editor’s target-language menu now open the General settings with the Languages card in view, instead of a settings search. (AQU-2031)
Language suggestions show, beside each name, the code the lane will use if you pick it, such as es for Spanish. (AQU-2049)

Experimental community checking: a feedback link now opens as a read-along document with a player at the top, and feedback goes to the passage you are on. (AQU-1249)

Fixed

Rows made from a recording no longer all count as repeats of each other. They repeat only when their transcripts match, and word-count analysis counts the transcript. (AQU-2045)
Edit voice keeps the chosen Accent when you pick a Voice afterwards, instead of resetting it to Default. (AQU-2032)
Archiving a lane in Project Settings → Languages shows its confirmation under the lane’s row, so it no longer covers the lane code and Advanced. (AQU-2046)

Smart Extensions (experimental). Describe a tool in plain words and the AI builds it: a side panel, a page, an editor for a file, or an importer or exporter. Extensions run sandboxed, ask before changing anything beyond reading, and every change they make is labelled with the extension and can be undone. It is off by default: a Maintainer turns it on with the Smart Extensions switch in Project settings → Experimental. Once it is on, the project sidebar has a Smart Extensions page, the editor has an Edit with menu (the original editor stays one click away), and Import and Export list extension formats under From extensions, including a Door43 importer. (AQU-1793, AQU-1937)
Choose the transcription model. In Preferences → Local models → Transcription, Aquilla hosted (recommended) now has a Hosted model list: Automatic (the default), Whisper, Qwen3-ASR for Chinese, Omnilingual for more than 1,600 languages, and Omnilingual Zero-Shot, which learns your language from the project’s recorded and transcribed takes and is slower and uses more credits. An organization can turn Zero-Shot off with Allow zero-shot transcription in its AI provider keys settings. (#1476)
Change voice. Turn an existing take into the line’s cloned voice, keeping its words and timing, at Fast, Standard, or High quality. The original take is kept. Use the Change voice icon on a line’s voice card in the Audio tab, Change voice of existing audio in the file’s ⋯ menu for a whole file, or Change voice in a take’s right-click menu on the timeline. Project settings keep the header and the Save changes button pinned at the top while you scroll a long section. (AQU-2030)
Knowledge base: a new upload switches from Indexing… to Indexed without a reload, instead of turning into a false Indexing stalled. Large documents now get summaries and are split into even sections, so all of the text can be found. A document that was indexed but not summarized shows Indexed without summaries with the reason, and stays searchable. (AQU-2002, AQU-2028, AQU-2029, AQU-2033)
Removing someone from a lane in the Staff [lane] popover now closes their open assignments in that lane, after asking: the row says how many will close, and Remove and close confirms. Finished work stays as it is. Someone’s only language still can’t be removed there. (AQU-1999)

Fixed

The Staff [lane] popover no longer says “Need broader access? Leads see all languages.” or offers an Add as lead link. Only Maintainers and above see every lane; make someone a lead from the project’s Members page. (AQU-2004)
A Project lead limited to a lane now shows in that lane’s People column and under On this lane in the Staff popover. Picking a Maintainer or above there explains that they already see every language, instead of showing an error. (AQU-2027)
Living Memory’s Recent Examples shows validated pairs again on projects that translate into a named language. (AQU-2001)

Cut dub takes into pieces. Right-click a take on the timeline and choose Split here, or press S to split the selected take at the playhead. The take stays one recording, made of pieces you can approve or delete one at a time. (AQU-1767)
Undo history. A History button next to the view switcher lists every step you can undo, newest first, with Undo and Undo to here. The timeline’s Undo and Redo buttons and Ctrl/Cmd+Z use the same history, kept per language. (AQU-1767)
Comments as CSV, and comments across projects. The Comments page has an Export as CSV button that writes the visible list to a file. Maintainers and Owners also get a Comments across projects page in the organization sidebar, with the same export. (AQU-1958)
Four more built-in checks: Corrupted characters, Unpaired quotes, Untranslated words, and Length mismatch (off by default).

A team attachment can name the lanes it covers. Attaching a team to a project with target lanes shows a Target lanes list, and an organization admin can change it later from the project’s row menu. (AQU-1813)
Organizations can set defaults for the timeline and recordings under Timeline and recordings in Project defaults: locking timings, whether maintainers can edit timeline tracks, who can add and remove cells, self-validation of recordings, and the minimum role to validate recordings. Projects follow them or set their own. (AQU-1768)
Assign work on a project’s Team card now offers only languages someone on the project is staffed on, and says so when there are none. (AQU-1994)
The Staff [lane] popover lists who is already on the lane, each with a Remove button. Someone’s only language can’t be removed this way. (AQU-1998)

After a page reload the editor no longer stays read-only on “Loading languages…”.
Translators can type a space at the edge of a protected InDesign (IDML) run without it being refused or reverted. (AQU-1962)

New

Monday.com setup in three steps. Linking a project to a board is now one short dialog: pick the board, tick what the board should show (Aquilla adds any missing columns), and confirm. Nothing is written to Monday until the last step. Linked projects can add columns later, and the organization’s Monday.com page shows which projects are linked. (AQU-1770)
Organizations can set the default Required validators for text and audio. Each project follows the default or sets its own number, and the organization’s settings show which projects have their own. A project can also make who sees its members and progress stricter than the organization’s setting, never looser. (AQU-1771, AQU-1938)
The built-in punctuation checks now follow the target language’s own marks, so Arabic, Greek, Devanagari, Armenian, Ethiopic, Burmese and similar languages stop getting false alarms, and Thai-style “no end mark” is accepted. Built-in checks can also be turned on or off per language on projects with several languages, and the Language profile has a Punctuation row you can set yourself. (AQU-1906)
Validating a repeated row now asks “Validate the repeated rows too?”, with Just this row as the other choice. (AQU-1486)
The Export dialog warns when lines would export a recording nobody has validated, with a Show me link to the first one. With the Validated only content setting, lines without a validated recording are left silent. (AQU-965)

Pulling a newer Door43 release applies its changes much faster. If some changes can’t be applied, the rest still land and running the update again retries just those. (AQU-1860)
Autopilot runs keep going without long pauses between steps. (AQU-1845)
Live collaboration and progress updates stay responsive in large workshops: cursors and live typing now go only to people in the same file. (AQU-1825, AQU-1831, AQU-1832)

Next-word suggestions: as you type, the next word or two appears in grey after the cursor. Tab accepts the whole suggestion, → at the end accepts one word (← in right-to-left text), and Esc dismisses it. Suggestions come from your project’s validated cells and the line’s source text, worked out on your device with no AI model. Turn them off with Suggest next words in the editor view settings. Not offered in InDesign (IDML) cells. (AQU-1794)
Select a single word and choose Words that fit here on the selection bubble to see words your project uses in that spot; click one to replace the word. (AQU-1807)
JSON import and export: a single JSON or ARB file now opens Choose which keys to translate, so you pick the values that hold translatable text. The new JSON export writes the translations back into the original file at those keys and leaves everything else unchanged. (AQU-525)
Stage as proposals for review on the A translation import: each match becomes a proposal, and nothing is written to the file until someone approves it. (AQU-1673)
Generate voice in the Audio view selection bar gives each selected line a take in one voice. You choose whether lines that already have generated audio are left alone or generated again, see an estimate of words and credits first, and can cancel while it runs. (AQU-1722)
A new built-in check, USFM markers, flags markers USFM doesn’t define and paired markers that are never closed. The USFM import preview also lists structure problems, such as a repeated chapter number, before you import. (AQU-1731)
Visible style segments, a new editor view setting (off by default), shows the styled pieces of InDesign (IDML) cell text. An empty IDML cell can take one preview and place it into the styles with Pass to Style Segments. (#1376)

A notification bell in the header lists comment @mentions of you. Opening a notice jumps to that comment, and closing the comments panel clears the deep link so you can open the same notice again. Marking a notice read leaves it in place. The header menu and a right-click let you mark read or unread, filter to unreads, and delete with undo. Keyboard navigation works with the arrow keys. Comment threads now let you edit or delete your own messages. Each message shows Edit and Delete on its menu when you’re the author. (AQU-761)
Comment composers now suggest project members when you type @, storing mentions as chips. (AQU-761)
A linked video’s captions become its own rows, like captions added at import time. The empty screen is one card explaining what to do. The video keeps its own sound unless you choose an uploaded recording. On an empty linked-video file, a maintainer can attach captions without the track-editing switch; Attach captions appears in the Text view’s card and the Media view’s Text track card. (AQU-1566)

Project leads now see every target lane, the same as a maintainer. Contributors and reviewers still see only the lanes they hold a grant on. (AQU-1795)
The project overview Languages table and the Languages card in Settings → General list target lanes only. The source language stays on the source lane. The heading is Target lanes. Staffing a row opens one popover, matched by lane id. (AQU-1796)
Changing a target lane’s language uses the same language-name menu as project creation. The name is what gets stored. The code stays derived unless you type one. (AQU-1797)
Staffing a lane can pick someone already on the project, including a direct invite who is not on the organization roster. The person is placed on the clicked lane as a reviewer or contributor. (AQU-1798)
Adding someone to a project now requires an explicit lane choice when their role is below project lead. The invite and add-member forms ask which Target lanes they get: Every current target lane or Only selected lanes. (AQU-1808)
Batch validate text… and the file-wide draft actions now open one dialog that lists what the run includes. Untouched AI drafts (AI drafts nobody has checked) are left out by default; a reviewer, or anyone at project lead or above, can tick them in. For a contributor that box is disabled with a note explaining why. Lines someone else already checked, including AI drafts, stay in cells ready for your check. Skipped cells are named in the dialog. The “your session expired” banner used to disappear the instant it appeared, wiped out by the app’s own redirect; it now stays visible until you dismiss it or sign back in (AQU-884).
A project set to a non-English source language (for example a low-resource language) could keep showing “English” in the editor and in back-translation prompts, and changing the setting in Project Settings didn’t fix it. The project’s configured source language is now used everywhere (AQU-848).
Correcting an auto-transcribed source text on an imported audio section no longer gets silently overwritten by the media file’s filename after saving (AQU-847).
Asking the in-app AI agent to translate “the next few verses” while a file was open could sometimes target the wrong file; the agent now stays in the currently open file for relative requests, asks instead of guessing when scope is genuinely ambiguous, and every proposed change now shows which file it targets (AQU-846).
A teammate’s newly committed cell could stay blank until you clicked away and back, or after a server redeploy; the app now automatically re-syncs the open file whenever your connection reconnects (AQU-845).

The in-app AI agent can now add new rows and headings to a file when asked, instead of returning a “can’t apply this yet” error; adding a row still requires your approval and respects your role (AQU-890).
Connecting a project to Monday.com is now a single guided wizard (connect, scan, review, apply) that uses AI to suggest a board and column mapping you can edit before applying, instead of a scattered multi-screen flow. This also fixes a broken settings link and a confusing error when a Monday account has no boards (AQU-855).
The app’s interface now has initial support for four new languages: Thai, Burmese, Malay, and Arabic, including right-to-left layout for Arabic and locale-aware date, number, and file-size formatting. A failed organization load used to falsely show “No organizations yet” and hide the organization switcher; it now shows an error card with a Retry button and keeps the switcher visible (AQU-882).
Members who only had access to shared projects (not full org membership) used to land on a dead-end “Your organization is ready” screen; they’re now taken straight to a page listing their shared projects (AQU-864).
Importing legacy audio with no real speaker labels no longer splits a single speaker into dozens of phantom “voices”; such audio now imports under one default voice, while projects with real character names still get one voice per character (AQU-813).

In Media view, the panel below the audio timeline is now a full scrollable text table kept in sync with the timeline. Click a clip to jump to its text row (or the reverse), the current row auto-scrolls and highlights during playback, and each line gets a small icon to assign or change who’s speaking. Several playback glitches (the position jumping backward, losing track of the current line, hover highlighting misbehaving) are fixed too (AQU-646).

Import documents straight from Google Drive, including whole folders, via a new “Google Drive” option in the import dialog; a summary before import shows which files will be skipped and why (AQU-823).
Expanding a media, audio, video, or subtitle file on the project overview now shows a section breakdown in roughly 5-minute chunks, each with its own percent translated and validated, instead of one flat total (AQU-805).
Organization owners can now set the minimum role required to add or edit termbase entries in a project, instead of that permission being fixed; this also fixes project leads sometimes getting a permission error when saving termbase changes (AQU-822).
Each file in the sidebar now has a “File details” option showing its type, language, import date, and translation/validation progress, plus rename, move, export, and delete actions (with an explanation whenever an action isn’t allowed for your role) (#341).

Typing with an IME (Japanese romaji, Devanagari) into an IDML target cell no longer doubles characters or mixes in raw untranslated input (AQU-810).

The Teams page now only lists teams you’re actually a member of if you’re not a maintainer, and the “Remove member” control is enabled only for maintainers and owners (AQU-789).

Autopilot also now factors in your project’s approved and forbidden terminology and its translation brief when drafting, and is on by default for all projects (#263).

A round of scheduled security reviews fixed several internal issues: role-resolution gaps in the external Agent API and personal-access-token surface, error responses that leaked internal details, a non-constant-time secret comparison, unpinned CI/CD dependencies, and added true server-side session revocation on sign-out. Validations are now credited to the account that actually clicked Validate. Previously, switching accounts without reloading could attribute a contributor’s validations to the project owner (AQU-633).
When a validation is blocked (outside your assigned files or lanes, or self-validation is off), the cell no longer silently reverts. A banner now explains why in plain language, and cells you can’t validate are greyed out with a reason instead of offering a button that won’t work (AQU-633).
Translating your own cell no longer auto-validates it on projects where self-validation is turned off (AQU-633).
Importing a spreadsheet with a target-translation column now fills each target with its own row’s text, correctly aligned to the source. Importing with no target column mapped leaves targets empty (AQU-638).
The project Comments page now loads existing comments on its own; no more clicking Refresh after opening it directly (AQU-640).
